Causes & Treatment
Treatment depends on the severity of acne:
Mild forms: Comedolytic therapies with vitamin A acid derivatives that regulate sebum flow.
Moderate to severe acne: Combination of local and systemic antibiotics, if necessary also cortisone.
Severe courses: Systemic retinoids such as isotretinoin require intensive monitoring and precautions, especially in women of childbearing age.
Peeling for Acne & Acne Scars
Chemical peels are a proven method for treating acne and acne scars. By applying special acids such as fruit acids (AHA), salicylic acid (BHA), or trichloroacetic acid (TCA), the upper skin layers are gently removed and cell renewal is stimulated.
